Joint Service Council donates paper containers to BirZeit University

Joint Services Council for Solid Waste Management in cooperation with the f BirZeit University through the Student Affairs deanship and the Department of General Services launched a new project within a plan that aims to convert Birzeit University to an eco-friendly University, for that purpose Joint Service Council has donated fifty paper containers to be placed inside the university buildings.  This project was designed to promote the principle of waste separation, and recycling the waste so as to take advantage of it, and to protect and preserve the environment.


The Executive Director of the Joint Services Council for Solid Waste Management Engineer Husain Abuoun insisted on the  importance of this project on the environmental level in terms of reducing the amount of waste produced through the re-use and  expressed  his pleasure to  cooperate with Birzeit University in spreading the waste separation principal between University students hoping that this will be a step towards spreading the culture of waste separation from the source to all members of the community .


Mr. Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al Dean of Student Affairs at Birzeit University added, Birzeit University that is always seeking to coordinate with of civil society institutions on issues of interest to the university community, and through this activity it aims to develop a culture among the university community about the idea of separating the waste due to the importance of working towards the utilization of recycled waste .

Joint Services Council had cooperated with Birzeit University in the implementation of a number of campaigns such as the campaign a "clean homeland”. And both parties aim to follow up the implementation of this project through promoting the waste separation idea and increasing the number of containers that operate according to the principle of waste separation, and to work on a plan to recycle the waste.
