Joint Services Council for Solid Waste Management in the Ramallah and Al-Bireh in collaboration with the village councils in Kafr Ne’mah and the municipality of Beit Leqia arranged for voluntary cleaning day and planting trees in the two regions.

the first activity was held in Kafr Ne’mah in cooperation with Kafr Ne’meh Girls school, the students of the tenth and eleventh grade in the school initiated to clean up the school yard and the streets around the school, and they also initiated to clean a disused garden next to the school and planted trees in order to use and rehabilitated the park. Mr. Ehsan Nasr head of the village council Kafr Ne’mah insist on the necessity to spread the culture of maintaining the cleanliness of the village among the youth.

The second activity was in Beit Leqia with the participation of 100 students from the ninth grade, where some of the students cleaned up the town entrance and planted trees to decorate the entrance, and the others cleaned the town center and planted trees in it. In which students aims by this initiative to send a message to the people of the town to maintain cleanliness and aesthetics of the area and exonerate dumping waste in the streets phenomenon of the dumping of waste in the street.

He commended Engineer Hussein Abu Aoun, Executive Director of the Joint Services Council for Solid Waste Management on the efforts and initiatives of the students and the students, and stressed the importance of this kind of initiatives and volunteer activities in the field of environment preservation and the necessity to raise awareness and environmental education among members of the community. And that the Council is committed is always ready to provide support and assistance to any similar initiatives in various areas of the governorate. .

Mr. Mahmoud Assi mayor of Beit Liqia also expressed his delight to organize such events in the town where this activity is the first of its kind in the town, also commended the effort and activity of students and encouraged them to continue to pursue the cleanliness and beauty of the town and promote the spirit of initiative and cooperation among citizens.
