Joint Service Council visits Al-Minya sanitary landfill- Hebron

Joint Services Council for Solid Waste Management - Ramallah and AL- Beireh staff, represented by its Executive Director of the Council Eng. Hussein Abu Oun and consultants from AHT visit to the Higher Council for Solid Waste Management - Hebron & Bethlehem in order to exchange information and experiences in the Solid waste management field in general and the establishment and management of the sanitary landfill in particular. The Higher  Council for Solid Waste Management is the responsible entity  for the establishment and operation of sanitary landfill in Al-Minya, which serves the southern region of the West Bank in accordance to the  National Strategy for Solid Waste Management issued by the Ministry of Local Government.
The visit included a tour in the sanitary landfill site in Al- Minya, which consists of four cells and a leachate assembly pond.  After the tour a meeting was held with the Executive Director of the Council Eng. Yasser Dweik , in which a number of inquiries where directed to him about the  stages to set up and opening of the sanitary landfill of Al-Minya,  in addition to a number of technical inquiries and a discussion about the obstacles faced by the higher Council during that period , and the Eng. Dweik genially provided several valuable tips for the JSCRAB team based on the experience he gained during the implementation phases of the project , which will start will soon start operating.
JSCRAB team also visited  Joint Services Council for Solid Waste Management in Bethlehem in order to identify a broader range of services provided by the Council in the governorate . As Eng. Iyad Abu Rdainah  the General Manager of the council welcomed them  and gave a full description about the council’s history and scope of work, in addition to the challenges, obstacles and crises faced by the Council during previous periods as well as providing advice and guidance to the team and exchange of experience about the systems and devices used Council , which will certainly be of benefit to the joint Services Council for solid Waste Management - Ramallah and Al -Bireh .
